Happy Saturday Morning!!

I read a quote this week on a social media post that was attributed to Albert Einstein.  The quote stated “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it.  Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.  It can be no other way.  This is not philosophy, this is physics.” I was so extremely excited to have found this quote and the appropriateness of this quote in relation to my blog.  Imagine my disappointment upon learning the fact that Albert Einstein did not say this quote.  At least not according to my google search.

In my search (yes, I am saying search and not research because I did not conduct a full research project on the matter, but rather a google search), it appears that the quote should be attributed to Darryl Anka.  I am not sure why this quote has been circulating with credit given to Albert Einstein, nor have I done much research on Darryl Anka or his background.

So, do I throw out the quote?  Does the quote suddenly have no meaning because it was not said by Einstein?  Do I go down the rabbit hole of conducting a full research project on the origins of just a fun quote I had found?

How many times do we face the reality that something that we were looking forward to or had our hearts set on just does not turn out the way it should? How many times does something that seemed to be so right end up wanting to send us down a rabbit hole of stress?  How do we continue to find gratitude in the face of disappointment?

We look to underlying thoughts, activities, or even occurrences.  How can I change my thought process to turn this into something that will make me feel grateful for having been exposed? Yes, I was disappointed that I could not use the support of a known leader in science to further support my thoughts that improving your output improves your input, what is essentially the Law of Attraction.  But how to turn this disappointment on its heels?

We look to ways we can use the disappointment or discouragement to turn this into a positive.  I came away with two different thoughts with this situation. One, I did learn something in searching which is always a good thing.  Two, and better yet, I can use this quote for a topic of my blog!  I can use this disappointed to help show that we can still find gratitude even when we are discouraged.  Sure, I am not able to go into an in-depth discussion about frequency and energy based on this quote, which is actually a good thing because I am not a physicist!  But instead of focusing on the negativity of the disappointment, I am spending this Saturday morning pondering how I can turn this into something I can be grateful for having read.

Using the quote as a topic for my Saturday morning musings may seem like a little thing, but that is what finding gratitude in daily life is all about!  That is what I spoke about last week and will probably mention over and over again.  Sorry, but not sorry! Spending a few hours on a Saturday morning focusing on positive outcomes is a great way to start the day.  It has left me feeling energized and ready to dive into my day.

My parting thought for today is to remind you that when you are disappointed in something, try to sit back and think about any affects that were positive, perhaps it is just a growing and learning experience, which is perfectly fine. Focus on what you learned.  Then look to see what you can do to turn this disappointment on its heels and into a positive, grateful experience.  The answer may not always be obvious, and it may just be a fraction of a turn, but it is there, you can find your way to gratitude!  Please do share in the comments any situation you have turned on its heels.

P.S. If you haven’t, please do go check out the six-week challenge at the link above.  If you have completed the first week, please leave a comment on how things went for your week!
